How to Make Outback Steakhouse Alice Springs Chicken at Home


The Outback Steakhouse Alice Springs Chicken recipe is one of the most popular secret restaurant recipes around.  This recipe happens to one of my

wife’s all time favorites.  This is one of our favorite recipes to enjoy when we're staying in on a Saturday night (Along with a couple cans of Fosters of course!)

The Outback apparently knows what they’re doing when it comes to making this chicken dish and this recipe does a great job of imitating this favorite Outback classic.

People have always sought out secret restaurant recipes to enjoy they're favorite restaurant dishes.  Secret restaurant recipes are becoming increasingly popular.  Some of the main reasons for the secret restaurant recipes gaining so much popularity are:

•    With most people watching their spending these days, eating a great meal at home is a great way to save some money.  Going to a well known restaurant like the Outback Steakhouse can cost you as much as $20 - $25 per person depending on what you order and drink.  You can have significant savings by taking advantage of all the secret restaurant recipes that are available.  This is not to mention the fortune you'll spend on a couple drinks with your meal (it's way cheaper to drink at home).

•    Not having to fight traffic, find parking, and wait to be seated means you can have more quality, at home time instead of rushing around to have a quality meal.

Here's how to Make The Outback Steakhouse Alice Springs Chicken at Home:

    4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves pounded to 1/2 thickness.

    8 slices of bacon cut in halves

    2 tsp seasoning salt

    1 cup honey mustard

    1/4 mayonnaise

    1 Tbl dried onion flakes

    1 Tbl Olive oil

    1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms

    2 cups shredded Colby-Monterery Jack cheese

    2 Tbl chopped fresh parsley

    1. Rub the chicken breasts with the seasoning salt, cover, and refrigerate for 1 hour.

    2. Fry the bacon and drain. Set aside.

    3. Combine the honey mustard, mayonnaise, and dried onion flakes in a medium size bowl.  Set a side half of this mixture and save.

    4. Saute' chicken breasts in the olive oil until slightly browned.  Transfer the chicken to a 9" x 13"

        baking dish.  Spoon honey mustard sauce over each breast, then layer each breast with mushrooms and bacon.  Sprinkle with shredded cheese.

    5. Bake at 350 degrees F for 15 minutes or until cheese is melted and the chicken juices run clear and chicken is a safe temp. Sprinkle on parsley 


serve with the reserved honey mustard mixture on the side.

    6. Enjoy your Imitation Alice Springs Chicken!
